Signs of termites are easy to spot if you look closely. You may have already signs of termite damage to your home. These don’t look like normal wear, tear, or environmental damage. You may have loose tiles, sagging floors, bubbling paint, small pinpoint holes in drywall, or damaged and crumbling wood. There are other signs to look out for, as well. Subterranean termites will build mud tubes that lead up to the wood of your home. The bigger the mud tubes, the worse the infestation. A colony will not start producing these until it starts reaching a certain size, typically about four years after it’s been in place. These winged termites will start squeezing out of cracks in order to fly away to start new colonies of termites. You can find them both outdoors and indoors. These aren’t flying ants, though they do resemble them, and are more likely to be seen in the spring.
